Cogeco Email Setup – Evolution Mail
Here we will show you how to configure your Cogeco email address in the Evolution Email client.
TIP: You don’t need to use the Cogeco Webmail service to view your Cogeco emails. You can setup your Cogeco email address in just about any email client. There are a wide range of email clients to choose from, Windows Mail, Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Evolution and many, many more exist. What one should you use? Whatever one you prefer.
Now that’s enough of this blabber, because you probably already knew that, if not, you do now. Anyway, read below to get what you came here for in the first place.

1. Open the Evolution mail client and click edit -> preferences.
2. Click the Add button.
3. Click Forward on this Welcome screen
4. Enter a name and your Cogeco email address on this page.
5. Choose POP from the top drop down. Enter pop.cogeco.ca for the incoming mail server and enter your full email address for your username.
6. The options on this screen are optional. Fill them in if you wish.
7. Here you need to enter the outgoing mail server info. For Cogeco, it is smtp.cogeco.ca
8. Enter the name you would like to call this email account. This can be anything you want.
9. You should now see this screen, congratulating you on setting up your account.
10. You can now exit the Account Preferences window.
11. Click on the Send/ Receive button at the top of the Evolution main screen and you should see any new emails pop in. That is if you have any new mail.
